Notes about this historic site
1 According to a late 19th century source, a cottage, “The Old Manor House” has a staircase which seems superior to the rest of the house. This may have come from a larger, earlier manor house, which would also indicate that Cosford was a much larger and more important place than now. No one was at the house to allow access to the staircase or to see if any parts of the interior are part of an earlier manor house. The house has been enlarged and modernised.
