The remains of a Roman road were found during archaeological work at Birch Abbey, Alcester.

Notes about this historic site

1 Archaeological observation of construction work at Birch Abbey, Alcester, revealed cobbled surfaces probably belonging to the main E-W street through the southern suburb of the Roman town. Foundations for walls belonging to the former Grammar School were also recorded.
