Notes about this historic site
1 Archaeological observation of the excavation of foundation trenches recorded a large ditch sealed by a medieval ground surface containing 12th/13th century pottery. No dating evidence was found within the ditch, although it did contain some very small fragments of animal bone. The ditch probably formed a boundary of an earlier property.
2 The 12th/13th century layer was cut by a later wall, probably late med or post-med.
