Maps for particular locations and subjects

This website includes hundreds of individual maps that allow you find the content we have on the website about a location (e.g. Nuneaton) or a subject (e.g. Watermills and windmills).

To see these maps:

1. Go the list of all Locations or all Subjects.
2. Choose a location or subject.
3. Choose the Map View tab. You’ll see a map like the one show in the screenshot below.

Help with using the map

• The photo markers show the location of a photo.
• The pencil markers show the location of an article
• The flag markers show the location of a historic site.
• The numbers in circles indicate there are multiple markers at that location. Click on the number to zoom in and see the markers.

You can also overlay the map with historic maps.  To do this, click on the button marked ‘View historic maps’ and then select a particular historic map to view.
