Palace Cinema Nuneaton, Demolished

The Palace Cinema stood at the corner of Victoria Street and Queens Road. It was designed by R Pitcher architect and opened on December 10th 1928. The cinema was damaged by fire in January 1970 and re-opened April 1970 to the film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, starring George Lazenby. The Palace closed September 1979 and the last film to be shown was Roger Moore as James Bond in Moonraker. For an idea of where the Palace stood, the Roanne Ringway now passes where it would have stood and the nearest building standing is now what is known as Cash Converters.
