The man in the bowler hat I believe is my great grandfather George Knight the then owner of the mill. I do not know the male at the other end but I am sure it is the same boy who is standing in the first floor doorway of the mill building in the other photo. My maternal grandmother (Elizabeth Emma) would have been three years old and is the little girl held by her mother Hannah behind. The girl to her left I think is my Auntie Nell who emigrated to Australia around 1922. The older girl next to the young man is my great Aunt Mary who would have been about 13-14 then. I can only assume that the elderly lady is either George’s or Hannah’s mother but I am still working on this. Unfortunately Hannah died a short time after this but I do not know the circumstances. It is so sad that my grandmother nor my mother showed me this picture when they were alive, so I have had to work out everything for myself. Hopefully I have got it right.
