Description of this historic site

The site of a forge which was in use during the Imperial period and is marked on the Ordnance Survey map of 1886. It apparently ceased to operate before the Second World War, though the building is still standing. It is situated in Eathorpe.

Notes about this historic site

1 Forge marked.
2 This building is the end part of a long terrace which opened directly onto the road. It is now pebble-dashed and the interior is piled with ‘junk’. According to a neighbour it was out of use long before World War II.
