The site of a post mill, a windmill mounted on a post. It dated to the Medieval or Post Medieval periods. The site is known from documentary evidence. The windmill was situated 800m east of Brownsover.

Notes about this historic site
1 Mill Close (Clifton on Dunsmore tithe map 1849). Medieval or later. Post mill at approximately this location.
2 Tithe map. Note that none of the early mapping actually shows the exact location of the mill.
3 The only evidence for a windmill on this site is in the place name. The field is identified as ‘Mill Grounds’ on a map of 1779 and then as Mill Close on the Tithe Map and Apportionment of the 1840s.
