Notes about this historic site
1 Area that the Rev Pugh of Alderminster thought might be site of deserted village of ‘Aeldrahame’. A site visit found ridge and furrow over area and stone there probably natural outcrop. 30th October 1961.
2 Letter introducing the theory of the Rev Pugh, with mention of building foundations, reports of a church at the site in AD 549, and another of a millstone repaired there in 1016.
