Notes about this historic site

Dugdale records that there was nothing left of the manor house but ‘the skeleton’.
There are no surface indications to support the OS site for the Manor House and no other evidence for this siting can be found. Some stone mullions and sills which probably came from it lie in the Old Hall Farm yard.
Of the Manor House no sign remains, apart from a few blocks of sandstone and a deep rectangular pit of unknown purpose. This presumably held water, but is quite dry today.
Scheduled Monument Description.
