Comments
There is no sign of a leat or mill works, upstream is an earthbank, possibly a dam or a bridge ramp. Downstream are signs of straight channels not inconsistent with irrigation / water meadowing, as well as unexplained lumps of concrete – one with a piece of mineral railay line cast in situ, possibly bridge or building remains. Another possibility for the sluice gate may of been to raise the depth of the stream so as to allow it to be used for sheep dipping or unlikely to feed a fishpond.
