Notes about this historic site
1 Excavations in 1990 in the area of the car park of the Anglo-Saxon Pub in Bidford in Avon discovered a number of circular pits and a ditch. Although they contained no diagnostic material these appear to predate the Anglo-Saxon burials also discovered in this area and they were presumed to be prehistoric in origin. The ditch was discovered along the very eastern edge of the excavated area and may have served as a settlement boundary.
