Possible Lime Kiln 500m NE of Chapel Farm
Description of this historic site
The possible site of a lime kiln dating to the Imperial period. It is marked on the Ordnance Survey map of 1905. An overgrown mound located 400m southeast of Popehill Spinneys might be its earthwork.

1 ‘Lime kiln’ marked.
2 A small earthwork close to a quarry could be the remains of the limekiln. This is a mound about 1.2m high and 2.1m in diameter with a ‘hollowed centre and opening’. It is covered with vegetation.
