Moat in Weston under Wetherley
Description of this historic site
A large moated site 200m south-west of Weston under Wetherley church. Identified from mapping and visible on LiDAR imagery. An associated dam for a large pond exists to the east. Likely to be the site of the medieval manor house, possibly the site of Weston House demolished in the 18th century.

Notes about this historic site
1–3 A large moat was originally noted on HER mapping layers as possible and was proven by examining HER LiDAR imagery and online LiDAR Digital Terrain Model. It is associated with a dam to the east and a pond will have occupied much of the space between the moat and the dam.
