Notes about this historic site
1 Archaeological observation during the excavation of foundation trenches for a new conservatory revealed a hard packed stone and pebble surface probably belonging to a medieval or post-medieval street. The street would have run through the southern side of the village and was replaced during the 18th century. A ditch containing 19th century pottery belonged to the former rear property boundary, which would have also marked the north edge of the street.
