Notes about this historic site
1 The open air swimming pool at Abbey Fields clearly occupies a site of great antiquity. When the extensions to the pool were carried out twenty years ago a number of artefacts were found. A couple of coins were found in a trench on the site – a Post Medieval coin (PRN 5591) and an Edward I London halfpenny (1285-1300).
2 The site is within the Scheduled area of the SAM of Kenilworth Abbey (Monument Number 35115).
