Description of this historic site

The site of a shrunken village dating to the Medieval period. It is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs and is located east of Little Compton.

Notes about this historic site

1 Aerial phototographs clearly show earthworks of enclosures and trackways around Langston Farm, on the east side of Little Compton. The earthworks appear to be respected by the remains of ridge and furrow in surrounding fields.
2 The earthworks of enclosures and trackways around Langston Farm were mapped as part of the English Heritage National Mapping Project
