Notes about this historic site
1 A mound in the SW corner of the field was destroyed 10+ years ago and according to the farmer a watching brief was maintained by the Museum. A farm worker believes the mound is associated with a marl pit. The mound has now been totally flattened. At SP3261 there is a dip 10m by 10m containing Modern building rubble, brick, burned plastic and pottery. Also found: flint, 1 Roman sherd, 2 late Medieval sherds from the field.
2 Undatable.
