1 A total of 17 sherds of Romano-British pottery were recovered from trenches near St. Mary’s Church, Whitchurch. A large fragment of Romano-British roof tile was also recovered from the churchyard and of the 25 sherds found, seventeen proved to be fabrics dating from the late 1st-4th centuries.
