Notes about this historic site
1 The possible extent of Medieval settlement, based on the first edition 6″ map, 50 SE, 1886.
2 The village is not listed in the Domesday survey.
3 The ridge and furrow plotting fo the parish of Whitchurch shows extensive survival. It reaches close to Crimscote on all sides. The deserted area [WA1362] shows as earthworks.
4 The 1886 map shows a small hamlet. There are orchard areas which may overlie deserted plots. The mill [WA 4936]
dates from the Medieval period, and a chapel is documented in 1547.
