The windmill was built in the late 18th century. The mill has a 90 foot high stone round tower and is arranged over three floors inside. It ceased working during the 19th century and since then has had its onion cap, fantail, windshaft with sails, two pair of stones and all machinery removed, and replaced with a roof.
Present state
The three floors still exist with a newly fitted stairway to the top of the mill, and it looks sound and dry. There is a wasp nest in the mill with its paperlike delicate engineered structure (now without the inhabitants, needless to say). This is very well maintained mill with internal walls painted white, all timber has been treated with preservative and also all the floors are fitted with lighting.
Unfortunately, it is not open to the public.
