There are so many questions to this picture. Why is he with a salmon? Why is he dressed in a suit to be in the photo with a salmon? Why is he smoking next to the salmon? Why is his name ‘Blimey’? I’ve wanted to know the answers for ages and had no luck finding them.

Looking through the newspaper archive site there is a J T Hall who is a prominent member in the angling columns in the 1920’s He was treasurer to the Sir Colin Campbell Angling Club at one time. I wonder if this is “Blimey” proudly showing off a good catch ? As far as the cigarette goes I think in those days they would think nothing of smoking even at meal times !
