Milverton is surrounded by a bend in the River Avon, north-west of Leamington and north-east of Warwick. It is close to the ruins of the historic Guy's Cliffe house. Milverton is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, and post-Conquest was held by the Count of Meulan, who held a great deal of land in Warwickshire.
