I am hoping someone can tell me about the naming of Blacklow Hill as it bears my surname? I am a 7th gen Australian Blacklow & we are trying to establish if there is any connection. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
The inscription was composed by Dr Samuel Parr, vicar of Hatton. He was asked to do it by Mr Bertie Greatheed, who owned the land. Even taking into account the few days difference between New and Old style dates, the date on the inscription is out by a few days.
