Description of this historic site

The site of a celluloid factory marked on the Ordnance Survey map of 1906. It dates from the Imperial period and is situated in the Business Park.

    For celluloid factory read Bluemells, who produced cycle accessories initially of celluloid such as chain guards, mudguards, and handlebar grips.

    I took a set of photos of this factory site before it was demolished for housing (the office block remains and was converted into flats). Prints of these photos have been deposited with the Warwickshire County Record Office and Rugby Library..
