Historic hotel recorded on F White & Co.’s, Pigot’s, and Victuallers’ databases. The latter shows it in existence in 1805.
Situated on the south side of Swan street at the junction with Bleachfield street, and close to the junction with the High street and Stratford road – at a cross roads, in the medieval part of the town.
Listed building record (DWA1676) gives a date of late C18/early C19 for the hotel.
