Notes about this historic site
1 2 3 Vehicles or covered dumps of material are evident on aerial photographs taken in March 1944 by the US Air Force. There were about 300 individual items located on both sides of the roads to the north-west of Great Rollright which straddles the Warwickshire – Oxfordshire border.
4 The date of the aerial photographs suggests that the material was stored in preparation for the invasion of Europe in June 1944.
