Notes about this historic site
1 Elizabethan and Tudor coinage has been recovered at Lion House, according to the owner, together with a variety of Medieval/Post Medieval pottery sherds and 40+ stamped pipe-stems from the garden. In addition, the fabric of a well inside the house contains a stone-mullion window apparently salvaged from Guy’s Cliffe (WA2234).
2 Pipes from the Old Red Lion House recorded in MPhil Theses ‘Clay Tobacco Pipes and Pipemaking in Northern Warwickshire’
