Notes about this historic site
1 The pottery assemblage from the medieval ditch dated to the 12th to 16th century, though the majority of sherds would seem to date to the late 13th or early 14th century with perhaps a small amount of 15th-16th century Midlands Purple sherds either intrusive or deriving from the top of the ditch. The ditch is near parallel to School Street and is relatively shallow suggesting it may have been a drainage feature.
