Notes about this historic site
1 An archaeological evaluation in 1995 involving trial trenching and geophysical survey identified features of Iron Age and Romano British date. The Iron Age activity probably represents a small farmstead type settlement. The geophysical survey failed to establish the extent of the Iron Age activity due to medieval plough and other modern disturbance.
2 Excavation in 1999 revealed further evidence of Romano-British settlement.
