Notes about this historic site
1 Three or four Roman sherds found during excavations at Ratley Castle.
2 A significant number of Roman sherds and a fragment of fine Roman glass indicate a site near at hand.
3 A scatter of Romano-Britiah pottery, mostly small abraded sherds generally dating from the C2nd onwards, was found over much of the site.
