Findspot - three Roman coins were found in the area of Staple Hill. Two of the coins dated to the 3rd century. The other coin dated to the 4th century.

1 Finds made with a metal detector in 1985: Coin of Tetricus (c270-3 or later), coin of Carausius (287-291/2), coin of Constantine I (318-9), and a fourth coin, possibly Roman Imperial.
