Notes about this historic site
1 2 Clarendon Square gardens, Clarendon Square, Leamington Spa.
Lovie states that the square was laid out in 1825 with paths and shrubberies and mixed planting. Lovie reports that some trees survive but shrubberies are reduced and peripheral walks removed at the time of his report (1996/7). Trees include oaks (some probably not original 1830 planting) and pines at the north end. The railings originally enclosing the gardens have been lost.
Lovie states that the gardens are crucial for the setting of the Listed Buildings that surround them.
