Alcester. A crowd of people with a British Tank

A large crowd around an old British tank, in Alcester, with perhaps a band and placards about discharged sailors and soldiers, possibly armistice celebrations in 1918.[Looking closely at the door at the rear of the tank's sponson it is possible to make out a boy scout. Boy Scouts were used to act as 'doormen' when tanks were used to sell War Bonds, an office being set up in the tank. This strongly suggests this is part of Alcester's tank week. The photograph shows the crowd wearing summery clothes which indicates that is unlikely to be an Armistice celebration.] | IMAGE LOCATION: (Warwickshire County Record Office)
