Mill Street and entrance to castle, Warwick. 1930s.
[The street light in this photo was removed in 1932 and replaced with a traffic island. A dateable feature is 4 Mill Street, not yet restored though 2 Mill Street has been and it is thought that this was done in C1902]

The restoration of the two houses was pretty much a single campaign, so I would guess that the date is 1902-1920. The moving person with the umbrella appears to be wearing a ground-length skirt which would support this. The closer, white-painted house appears in “The Builder” and a copy is found in Warwickshire County Record Office. The architect for both was Charles Armstrong, who specialised in upgrading run-down houses for up-market clients.
