Photo attached – The King’s Messengers, we assume its St Nicolas Church, Nuneaton. Dated 1911 – money raised to train a Chinese boy for missionary work. Can anyone shed any light on this photo or indeed who were the King’s Messengers?

The “King’s Messengers” was the children’s branch of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (SPG).
Formed in 1891, the name was later changed to Adventurers. It was probably disbanded in the early 1960s (a periodical The King’s Messengers was published until 1960).
The SPG was incorporated under Royal Charter in 1701 as the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts as a missionary organisation of the Church of England. The group was renamed in 1965 as the United Society for the Propagation of the Gospel (USPG) and is now United Society Partners in the Gospel.
I was a KM in 1950 still have the brass lapel badge(aged 12). Made fretwork items to sell, and raise money to educate a boy in Africa as part of the SPG. 7.00 pm Tuesday at St Nicolas Parish Hall. Organiser Mr Nixon, and I think Canon Herbert.
I was a member of the King’s messengers in the 1940’s in Hertfordshire. So the name change must have come after that.
