One of our readers writes: This suspension bridge was erected by Land owner Thos Walker between 1868 and 1894 it provided access across the U shaped lake.
It would best be described as a Folly.
Post cards exist that illustrate it in the background of photo showing ladies boating around the lake. circa 1902
This would locate it within Studley Thorns to the south side of the eastern leg of the U location Google location 52.272057, -1.873831
there was also a boathouse nearby.
We cannot discern when the bridge was demolished presumably by the College management after 1902
