On the stroke of midnight the ghost of a white lady has been seen to glide out of the hall, sit on a stile and then drink from a brook. Some think that she might be something to do with a skeleton of a woman dug up in 1833 in the park. It was thought to be that of an Italian kitchen maid killed by a jealous lover in the eighteenth century.
Another ghost is that of a man who was said to have been killed in a duel. The owner of the hall in 1699 was a Popham Seymour. He was said to have been killed in a duel.
