Every musician in this picture appears to be left-handed. Trumpeters finger left-handed valves. the fiddles hold left-handed bows, and the band-leader wears the top pocket in his suit on the right-hand side. That is, the picture has been reversed; the initials on the music desks should read ‘A H’.
Who was ‘A H’, I wonder?
I remember a John Forman who was a Musicians’ Union official. during the late 1950s/early ’60s.
