Leamington Spa. Montgomery visit

Field Marshall Montgomery with "Freedom Casket", containing scroll of freedom of the borough, presented to him by Mayor of Leamington (Cllr. G. Purcell) at a dinner in the Manor Court Hotel. The casket is a replica of his own tank from the Battle of El Alamein. Looking on, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet engine, Leamington Spa. 5th June 1948
