Extremely interested in these views. My mother was born in 1899 in the house attached to the Forge. Her father was the blacksmith and on his early death, she and her widowed Mother and two tiny sisters moved to the cottage next to church. Her entire family on both sides came from the village going back generations – Heywoods and Bakers. I have a few old photos of these hardworking people of yeoman stock circa 1860/80 and would be happy to share them and any other information I have of Ladbroke in the 1900/40s if of any historical interest to you?
