I was born in Gaydon in 1951, and went to the infants school which was the village hall, the building on the left. I don’t recognise anyone in the photos.I don’t remember the village hall being a Library The building next to the church, in front of the lorry was the post office and haberdashery. My Gran was the last person to be buried in the Churchyard.
By Teresa Pemberton, but was Teresa Newbold. (20/01/2018)
I lived, very happily, in Gaydon up until 1977, when I was 7.
I used to play with a boy called Jonathan whose parents owned the thatched house on the left – I remember a train track that ran all around the front (left) room which was a playroom.
I went to school in the building a few doors down (on the left) and my Granny ran the Post Office just next to the church.
I have such incredible, happy memories of growing up in the village. We had such freedom…..
