The wagons on the right are not part of a train but are in Claverdon’s goods siding. Unusually the siding at Claverdon benefited from a platform which allows the wagon to be offloaded more easily. This was all swept away when the line was doubled in the 1930s.
It was standard railway practice for the wagon to be free of charge for the first three days in the siding after which it would be charged to the merchant.
