My ancestor was publican at the Wallace tavern . John Grinsell 1881-1883. The tavern apparently existed from 1832 and was named Wallace after a lion called Wallace from the womb well circus. There is a painting of the lion fighting a dog in st. John’s museum. The tavern existed until 1923. Sorry I have no photos.
John Grinsell actually ran the Wallace Tavern from 1871 taking over from Thomas Baine
