Site of historic inn recorded on F White & Co.’s, Pigot’s and Victuallers’ databases. The latter shows it in existence in 1808.
Situated on the east side of High street, next to the Bear hotel, in the medieval part of the town.
Listed building records (DWA1681, 3227, 4451), each giving details of a ‘part of an inn’, give a date of C17 for the inn.
