Notes about this historic site
1 The possible site of a burnt mound. Burnt stone was observed coming out of the river bank.
2 Evidence for a burnt mound consists of numerous pot boiler-tyoe “burnt” quartzite pebble fragments in the bed and beaches of a stream close to a footbridge over the stream (a tributary of the River Avon).
