Historic public house recorded on Pigot’s, F. White and Co.’s, and Victuallers’ databases. The latter shows it in existence in 1806.
Situated on the east side of Church Street, situated within the medieval settlement area. This building along with the others in this block, infills the original medieval market place.
Listed building record gives the earliest date for the building as late C18th.
