Possible Bronze Age round barrow, Combe Fields

Description of this historic site

The site of a possible Bronze Age round barrow, a mound of earth built to conceal a burial. Alternatively, it might be a mound on which a gazebo stood. It is situated 300m south of Combe Abbey.

Notes about this historic site

1 A small round mound with no surface indication of date or function.
2 This is similar to Combe Abbey ‘Tumulus’ (PRN 3723) and is more likely to represent a Post Medieval gazebo than a round barrow.
3 The mound is likely to be a Post Medieval gazebo or garden feature.
