Notes about this historic site
1, 2 The palaeochannel was discovered during an evaluation at St Benedict’s High School, Kinwarton Road, Alcester. Silt deposits containing organic material such as snail shells and wood were recorded and sampled. The channel does not appear on any historic mapping and was probably reclaimed for agriculture in antiquity.
