Description of this historic site
Findspot - fragments of pottery dating to the Early Medieval period were found 800m south east of the church, Charlecote. The fragments may have been part of a cooking pot.

Notes about this historic site
1 Saxon pottery found at the above grid reference during field survey in 1978. Sherds from river-gravels inside meander curve, possibly carried downstream after construction work at Wellesbourne bridge (see PRN 3363). Possibly part of domestic cooking-pot. Thick deposit of chalk inside.
